On October 13, 2026, Commissioner Ted Terry presented a proclamation in observation of International Day of Climate Action 2026. This year, the UN declared our planet is on track to exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius within the next few years. Commissioner Terry stated, while terrifying, we must use this moment as a catalyst to continue to work for the protection of our planet and all of its inhabitants, especially our most vulnerable who will bear the highest burden.
He further went on to emphasize, climate action can’t be done without our DeKalb County Climate Champions who tirelessly paint the picture, tell the story, and spur action personally, locally, nationally, and globally.
