The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners Approved $25 Million For The County’s New Housing Investment Bond Program

On July 14, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners approved $25 million for the county’s new Housing Investment Bond Program.
 
The funds are expected to support:

  • Down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers.
  • Home repair assistance for long-time, senior, and legacy homeowners.
  • Financing tools for affordable and workforce housing.
  • Expanded services for residents experiencing homelessness.
  • Partnerships with faith-based, nonprofit, and other organizations seeking to expand housing opportunities.
     
    The approved resolution authorizes the Housing Authority of DeKalb County to issue up to $25 million in taxable revenue bonds, the first portion of the county’s planned $155 million Housing Investment Bond.
